The next morning, they awoke to “images that the city we love, our mission field, our home, was on fire,” Arteaga shared at the 2025 eHuddle—an evangelism and leadership think tank hosted by the North American Division (NAD) Ministerial Association from Feb. 24 to 26 at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan.

More than 400 leaders, theology and seminary students, and faculty listened intently as the story unfolded. As wildfires swept Los Angeles, forcing evacuations, two members sought refuge at White Memorial. With no plan in place, leaders opened their doors to evacuees. Prayer meetings continued, a constant plea on their lips: God, use us and amaze us. And He did.

...

This was one of many powerful testimonies shared at the 10th annual eHuddle, held in English on Feb. 24 and 25, and in Spanish on Feb. 26, reaching thousands viaFacebook and YouTube. Online viewers also enjoyed a behind-the-scenes Q&A with all speakers.

<<< Read the full story at the North American Division site >>>
Thu, 17 Apr 2025 17:09:42 +0000 James White Library Hosts Book Signing http://www.andrews.edu/agenda/67165
A book signing event featuring author Joseth Howell for the book “Water Wonderful World,” will be held at James White Library at Andrew University located on 4190 Administration Dr., Berrien Springs.

The event will be held on Tuesday, April 15, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The book signing is open to the public with books available for purchase. This vote comes after the March 24, 2025, vote by the Andrews University board to transfer to the division the non-profit entity that has been part of the university since 1979 under the name of Youth Resource Center (it was renamed CYE in 1996). As part of the transfer, the corporate membership of Andrews University board of trustees will move to the North American Division, meaning that the NAD will need to establish a new board for CYE.

<<< Read the full story at the North American Division site and Adventist News Network site >>>
Thu, 03 Apr 2025 14:13:31 +0000 From Setback to a Setup http://www.andrews.edu/agenda/67121
I remember staring at my tuition balance, feeling the weight of impossibility settle on my shoulders. No matter how I crunched the numbers, it wasn’t enough.

Scholarships, grants, savings, odd jobs—it didn’t add up. I was on the verge of giving up when, unexpectedly, things began to shift.

During my senior year at Andrews Academy, Andrews University helped us register for college, regardless of where we planned to attend. That was when I seriously considered where to continue my education. I preferred a Christian institution, but it came with a steep price—especially compared to community college, which was free.

By graduation, I was enrolled at Andrews University—essentially on hopes and dreams— while also technically enrolled at LMC, a community college. I crunched the numbers and quickly realized I needed another job. That summer, I applied everywhere but kept getting turned down, often because I couldn’t work on Sabbaths or lacked experience.

Discouragement set in as summer slipped away. Then, my financial aid officer dropped a bombshell — Michigan was pulling its grants due to a new method they were implementing. There was no guarantee I’d receive the same amount — or anything at all. At this point, I nearly gave up.

Then, a classmate texted me about an internship opportunity at the Lake Union Conference. I had no idea what that was, but I figured I’d give it one last shot before canceling my classes at AU and attending LMC instead.

That’s when everything changed.

<<< Read the full story at the Lake Union Herald site >>>
Thu, 03 Apr 2025 14:11:16 +0000 Andrews Recognized for Seminary FTE Percentage http://www.andrews.edu/agenda/67068
Seminary enrollment is up, according to data collected by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS), an accrediting agency for seminaries.

For more than three decades, ATS has been releasing its annual data about what is happening in the world of graduate theological education.

…

The table shows that when it comes to FTE percentage, Duke is at the top with 98% of its students taking a full course load. Next is Liberty at 74%, followed by the Seventh-day Adventist Seminary of Andrews University at 68%.

<<< Read the full story at the Ministry Watch site >>>
Thu, 27 Mar 2025 14:04:41 +0000
